Ray Piskadlothe Wildwood boardwalk (what the Jersey shore is all about) is within 10 minutes and Atlantic City within 30 min. I second the Lobster House. I grew up in northern NJ, but spent many summer days down there. And yes, we call it the shore, not the beach!
