That reminds me of my favorite Mays related quote.

In the 1954 World Series, Game 1, the score was tied 2-2 entering the 8th. Maglie was tiring; he gave up a leadoff walk to Doby followed by an infield single to Rosen. Men on first and second, nobody out. Don Liddle replaced Maglie as Vic Wertz stepped into the box. Wertz crushed the ball 460 feet to centerfield, where Willie Mays made his spectacular running, over the shoulder catch.

Majeski was then sent up as a pinch hitter for Philley, and Giants manager Leo Durocher strolled to the mound, motioning for Marv Grissom to join him and Liddle there. Liddle then handed Grissom the ball, saying, "I got my man...."
