Default The Collector & the Dealer Episode 35!

The Collector & the Dealer
Episode 35: Today’s Hottest New Releases. Which is All of Them.

Wow, a jam-packed episode this time, a No. 10 wash tub spilling over with card talk, DO enjoy! And if you have any feedback, I appreciate any comments or messages here, suggestions for the next episode etc, all are welcome!

Episode 35 starts with Joe’s segment, the modern part. We discuss the release of Topps Series 1, as well as the uber cool Silver Packs, Optic football, Panini Certified basketball and, of course, a $1000 box of hockey where you get exactly six cards (UD The Cup).

I believe Joe submits more cards to PSA for grading than any other dealer in the state, possibly in the southeast, and he gives the drill-down on PSA, the numbers, the $$, etc.

This next part, don’t scoff: 1986 Fleer basketball has already started taking on one property of 1952 Topps. As in, get some, any of them. The rise in the MJ rookie has made even $1 commons now $5-$10 cards, and the stickers have jumped an even larger % over the past 12 months.

We also look at the Dr. J rookie and what has happened to the prices in the past year, as an example of a card you could have gotten for basically the same price for nearly a decade and now it’s 3X what it was March 2020.

We wrap up with “Joe! Buys! A Box!” This episode it’s Topps Series 1, then a discussion of the entire 1972-73 Topps hoops issue as Chuck’s Vintage Set of the Week. ENJOY!

Chuck
