Here's how my actual collection breaks down:
Pre war 5% (started collecting pre-war in 2009 after a 10 to 15 year hiatus)
Post war 1942-1979 15% (includes a hofer topps/bowman/leaf type set, complete 72 and 73 sets - first two years I collected as a kid)
80's 30% (includes 1 monster box full of my favorite bought-in-the-80's cards, and 6 or 8 vintage reprint sets)
90's 40% (includes 1 monster box full of my favorite bought-in-the-90's cards, my Barry Larkin collection, and two triplicate sets I keep in binders warhol-style)
2000 and later 10% (includes 50 or so from 05 and 07 heritage, 09 ud Goudey set and 09 allen+ginter sets - those got my started in pre-war )
2010 and later 0% (Don't want to get into the habit of buying current cards)

Here's the percentage based what I am actively collecting at the moment:
Pre war 92% ( see the "what are you collecting" thread in the main forum)
Post war 1942-1979 <1% (only looking for a 57t BRobby in Fair to Good)
80's 1% (casually adding to my Barry Larkin collection)
90's 5% (need a 95 ud cc se gold signature #185 Canseco, slowly working on two autographed 90's sets, and adding to my Barry Larkin collection)
2000 and later 1% (casually adding to my Barry Larkin collection)
2010 and later 0% (Don't want to get into the habit of buying current cards)
