Default 1915 Redsox Cane with Glass Baseball

eBay seller "faceshane" has a number of unique and high end items listed but one in particular has my interest. Described as a 1915 Boston Redsox presentation cane.

I contacted the seller asking for more information. Specifically, how it was attributed to the team, year and use. Their response below:

"This cane originates from a private collection from Boston which which contained a treasure trove of items relating to the 1915-16 Boston Red Sox.

These extremely limited presentation baseball canes were made during the tail end of the 1914 season and the 1915 season for the Boston Red Sox - and were made for that purpose. Many years back, an exact version of this cane was sold at auction that had been presented to Harry Hooper of the 1915 Red Sox. In addition, yet another of these canes came to sale from the estate of another 1915 Boston Red Sox player named Duffy Lewis.

There were similar versions of this type of baseball cane which were made for limited commercial use between 1920 and 1925 which were made to different specifications and were usually made with black or bright red handles and were 5-7 inches shorter, and the glass baseball was of a plastic type mold."

I am certainly not an expert on such things but feel that this looks rather folk artsy and crude to have been a presentation piece. I have asked the seller for links or mention of the auction houses that may have sold the other two examples mentioned.

Anyone from the board have any insight? Thanks!
