These are a pair of postcards featuring members of the 1925 Philadelphia Bobbies girls baseball team. The identity of the right hander I do not know, but I am fairly certain that the tall lefty is the tragic visage of Leona Kearns. You can read more about the Bobbies unfortunate trip to Japan here

Ms. Kearns was just 17 years old when she embarked on the trip with the team, and through a series of unfortunate events, the team was stranded in Japan. Three of the players, including Ms. Kearns, ended up having to stay for over a month in Japan as the rest of the team and the manager had left them there. The three finally begged for enough money to make the return trip to America, but along the way they encountered massive waves and Ms. Kearns was swept overboard. Her body was never recovered.

Thanks for sending that link. It was an tragic and interesting story. I can't imagine a teenager that youth on her own.
