I kind of like them. They are reminiscent of the classic comic artwork of the great Wally Wood (Mad Magazine, Topps, etc.) I probably won't ever shell out for these cards, but they bring back fond childhood memories of many of Topps' Non-sports cards of the '60s (Insult Postcards, Ugly Stickers, etc.)
They say the past tends to repeat itself, and these are just a benign example of that (see pics below...)
I can see how these modern-version cards would lure kids into the hobby, and don't mind them at all. At least nobody is being misled, cheated, defrauded, or coerced to accept someone's new tenets!
