Anne actually told me she was cleaning out the bottom of a dresser drawer and lo and behold- she found the original Knickerbocker ball wrapped in newspaper. I always wondered how it escaped the family's attention for a century and a half that they had this monumental ball in a drawer but nobody ever found it. I took that story with a bucket of salt. Nice woman, a bit eccentric to say the least. And I'm going to be 53- I still had a good memory at 44. No excuses!
