if one were to admit the cards were trimmed then id have no problem purchasing them raw.. the whole preference of having the authentic grade holder is so that i as a purchaser know that the card is in some way compromised.. protecting myself from a dealer who otherwise would not disclose the true condition of the card in question.. the reassurence of knowing that the card is authentic is a bonus but as stated above most people would know right away if the card was a fake.. so its more a question of integrity then authenticity.. the other nice thing about purchasing the card pre-slabbed is that the card is encapsulated and protected.. but thats a different issue..
