When I was a kid growing up in Northern California I discovered I could get the Dodger games on KFI on clear nights. Sometimes I had to put the radio up by the window to get a signal but it was worth it. Loved listening to Vin and Jerry Doggett despite being an A's fan. I think of Vin as the Michael Jordan/Wayne Gretzky of radio men.

I think underrated, is Bill King who did the Giants and A's during his career, was great at describing what was going on and had a massive vocabulary. Less of a storyteller than Vin (who is by far the best at that), but to me he is and always will be the voice of Bay Area sports. King also did the Raiders and Warriors (and Cal football) with equal aplomb.

I may be in the minority but I like Jon Miller's voice and style too. I think he fits radio better than TV but ya gotta follow the money these days.
