It collapsed in the sense that the million dollar monkey pictures aren’t so high anymore, but there are plenty of people still paying hundreds of dollars for these things. The most massive part of the hype train is gone but it hasn’t wiped out completely.
As to why that is, I cannot help
. None of this makes anymore sense to me than draining 401K’s to yolo on baseball cards.
