In 1947, was the first black player to play for the St. Louis Browns. His best season may have been 1950 for the New York Giants as he posted a .391 OBP with 91 RBIs in 604 plate appearances. Also starred for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro American League. 1954 World Series Champion.
