Not Pre-War made, but Pre-War players.
Eddie Grant as everyone knows died in WWI and Bill Niemeyer was a Cubs prospect who lived right down the street from where I live now in Kentucky. He died in Germany in March of '45. Billy O'Hara was a Canadian aviator and infantry office in WWI. He lived but was traumatized by what he saw in France.
Every Veteran's and Memorial Day I try to feature a relevant ballplayer. It's my little way of saying thank you. It makes me realize how darn fortunate I am.
