It's because the error was so spectacular, getting the very first thing wrong that authenticators must know before they even start looking at the handwriting. That being the subject of their research. No one called an FDR a Teddy Roosevelt.

No, Travis, Drew Max, even with his hubble-sized magnifying glass examination, wasn't able to see that the signature of FDR was a reproduction. As a matter of fact, Drew Max emphatically states
"When you put it all together, there's only one conclusion, this thing is definitely authentic." I guess you don't consider that a major blunder, Travis.
