It's a rough gig being an artist. It's a lot of sweat equity that in most cases isn't rewarded in the marketplace. Even after you're an established artist, you're always trying to figure out where the next commission or sale will come from (which in some ways is like any other business--however, I don't seem to have to worry about tax miscreants finding me in my business)
