Default 1930 Tennis Medal w/ Historic Significance

Looking to sell this tennis medal that was awarded to a man aboard the ship M.S. St. Louis. The St. Louis was a German ocean liner that traveled between Germany and New York in the 1930's.

It became world famous in 1939 when it sailed for Cuba with nearly 1,000 Jewish refugees on board. Most were not allowed to enter Cuba and the United States and Canada also refused their entry. The vast majority returned to Europe where a large number were killed during the Holocaust.

The medal itself was presented to the winner of the tennis tournament held on July 17, 1930.

Price is $40.00 including US shipping. Please email or PM me if interested.
