Indeed I am noticing that, but I was thinking maybe I was wrong, I usually judge by ebay, if something is a royal pain to find, I usually consider that rare. I am lucky to have found a beat up 54 bowman Williams ungraded for close to book value, sometimes my biggest problem is not finding a card but finding it in crappy enough condition so I can afford it. I would rather have 6 beaters of different legends rather than have 1 superb condition one. I do agree the 52 Mantle does not seem like it's rare at all, I think my Eddie Mathews rookie is more scarce or even my Hoyt Wilhelm Rookie. Thanks to ebay and other online sites cards are alot easier to find even lower condition. I gave up collecting in the mid 90s because of high priced card shops.
