I draw the line at printer error, vs. dust on the printer plate. I don't particularly care for Sweeney No B either, for a similar reason.
The only reason that these items earn a premium is because more than one person thinks its cool enough to bid against another in an auction or sale. Then the next guy who goes to sell the card marks it at that premium and cites the first sale. Repeat ad infinitum.
Don't believe the hype. Collect real errors, not splotchy lettering.

I can definitely agree with that. It's probably the same reason I have no desire to get the '58 Topps Herrer(a) "error", the '57 Topps Baker(p) "error".
