Lot #2-- The Sporting News Ruth rookie, is one of those lots that makes me go hmmm. That exact card sold four years ago for a little more than $25K in Mastro--less than half of what it's bringing right this minute. A nicely centered and IMO much nicer PSA 6 example of the card sold in Heritage a year and half ago for not quite $39K-- at least $20k less than this will fetch. Of course this card is coveted, but it simply is not that scarce, IMO anyway, to justify such a spike over that period of time. Gotta have it now, I guess.
Then again, whoever paid $30K + buyer's premium for those SGC 10 m1015 short prints in REA proved that common sense is often on vacation come auction time.
