David, I appreciate your advice. At this point, I really think anything can be resealed. I just have to make my best guess when checking it out that it is not. I chose to get a grocery pack because the edges have been better protected than a loose pack and should yield higher grade cards. It's not for the rarity factor, as I'm a pack opener, not a pack saver.
I also just got a '72, '73, and '75 Topps wax pack and can't wait to break them. I got a Brooks Robinson (one of my favorites!) out of the pictured '75 Topps cello that should grade an 8, IMO. I love opening old packs, even if it's all commons. Is it smart collecting or (usually) cost effective? No. But do I enjoy it? Very much.
