I've kind of got interested in cigarettes by accident - I bought a Helmar pack and started to do some research - I was thinking of posting my work on it later on.
I picked up a Helmar pack and found an Egyptienne Straights coupon - specifically for silk "National Flags" - have no idea how common they are:
I'm not an expert on tobacco companies - but I believe this brand was a product of the American Tobacco Company up to the 1950s.
I know of two premiums for the "Egyptienne" brand:
1. The silk "national flags":
2. and the B-18 Blankets:
This particular blanket accompanied the purchase of a "Helmar" cigarette box.
I recently picked up this advertisement piece and have seen others - I believe this one is in nice shape - I was really happy when I checked the picture and it's definitely a chromolithograph:
The picture and original frame is approximately 19 1/2" X 17 1/2"
I didn't quite understand the design of the piece until I saw the inside of a cigarette box:
which "ties" the whole thing together. I'm quite partial to the deep red color and the haunting appearance of the portrait.
Thank you for viewing.
