I just realized this thread is in the wrong place!

I also just realized Larry had posted details of getting to 198 lineups before I had asked. Anyway, there were 14 single lineup captains, four of whom were traded between 66 and 67 seasons leaving ten singles amid a sea of multiple lineup captains. Romano was a single too who switched leagues but for some reason he captains four lineups. The singles must not have been intended to be singles but all the maneuvering with the four pulled players must have fubared things up royally.

If you assume that there should only have been 2 or 3 lineups for the captains, and the 8 four lineup captains were bumped up from three lineups, that leaves two captains bumped from 2 lineups to 3. That would yield 22 three lineup captains and 44 two lineup captains, a neat way to spread out the distribution more evenly and a righteous number with 66 possible groupings of three.
