Lantern jaw or not, Shannon is one of the less wonderful artistic renderings in the T206 set. He's all bent up like Plastic Man from the old comics. If it weren't for the smokestacks in the background he would join Dunn in the
flies through the air with the greatest of ease T206 horizontal pose wannabe category. My theory is that the same artist who painted Spike Shannon also did Billy Purtell and was then told to clean out his desk, and maybe consider another line of work. And stay the heck away from that Kreindler kid. If he were to have painted any more players everyone would have quit smoking in 1911. The history of the world as we know it could have been very different. Just my theory.
