Ruth was relatively unknown I guess and not likely to make people rush out and get these cards. Thorpe was also one of the 184 others!

Not only was Ty Cobb not used in the newspaper advertising, he was not even included in the M101-5 set. I wonder the reason why - especially considering he was added to the M101-4 set later that year.
