Intersting because.......
One of the things that made the assumption so interesting was that it depicted the Red Sox taking batting practice, which would correspond with the Babe Ruth theory since he undoubtedly put on a show during BP.
A good friend of my dad's (and me as a child) was the late Roscoe Davenport, brother of Jim Davenport. Roscoe could hit that ball with tremendous power. He was a serious prospect and was recruited by major league teams, of which I can't detail at the moment because I'm relying on my memory right now. I continuously heard stories about Roscoe being invited to at least one major league field and taking BP with the team. He proved true to his power, but due to some bad decisions it never worked out. I'm going to try and locate a picture of Roscoe.
Anyway, my question is: is it possible Ruth visited the Red Sox, etc prior to his arrival? Any documentation on that?
I've also seen this postcard on a linen(?) postcard, which pre-dates 1915 as well, correct?
Sorry for the spelling of interesting in the title.
