Another Philly Show....another group of T205 DRUM's
Hanging next to Ron Oser (Lengendary Auctions) is always a hoot. Our booths are adjacent at the Philly show. I have
known Ron since 1980 when I met him at the Montclair State College (NJ) BB card show. We have grown old together
in this hobby.
Friday nite at the Philly show a guy walked in with an eclectic group of 400+ T-cards. He walked it around and ended
up at Ron's booth. Ron and I sorted through all of these cards and Ron bought them. The majority of the cards in this
collection consist of an assortment of 375 T205's, T206's and OBAK's. Additionally, the star cards are......
T205 and T206 Cobb (red)
18 - T205 and T206 HOFer's
T206 DRUM's (Pfeister and Rucker)
and the following T205 DRUM's......
Austin
Chase
Knight
Lord
Olmstead
Payne
Quinn
Furthermore, two great pitchers were signing at the show......
Bob Feller is 91 years old and very robust looking for his age. It would not surprise me if he can still go to the mound
and pitch a few innings.
Jim Bunning is 77, and looks good enough to pitch his 3rd no-hitter. Bunning signed for 160 fans (the highest number
of signings for the weekend, and twice that of Ripken).
While, no one would dare compare Bunning with Feller, their numbers are astonishingly close......17-18 year careers,
3.25 ERA's. Bunning's W-L is 224-184 while Feller's W-L is 266-162. However, Bunning has a considerable edge in the
K's/BB stat with 2855/1000 to Feller's 2581/1764.
