The "Bucks" were indeed issued in packs, each with a single fold through them.
However, a few years ago, uncut sheets of them surfaced in an auction, and these sheets were final runs and in pretty good shape, so whoever bought them decided to slice up the sheets and make individual bucks, thus no fold lines, and PSA graded them (that is an entirely other story, as PSA maintains that they do not grade sheet cut cards, however, their position must be that it is difficult for them to say they were sheet cut because they are paper thin and not as easy as cardboard to detect the method in which they were cut)
The vast majority of the ones issued in packs were horribly centered, many miscut from top to bottom, but the sheet cut ones with no fold are centered nicely, thus the generally higher grades on the unfolded ones.
So, in an answer to your question between the difference between a 7 and an 8 - the fold line has no impact on the grade unless the card has been worn around the fold (like if someone folded it open and closed several times). Centering is the difference in probably greater than 90% of the cases. Corners are going to be of similar sharpness on a 7 or 8 of the bucks.
