I'm not really one for collecting memorabilia, as I'll usually buy whatever I need photo-wise, scan it, and then get it back on eBay or turn it to some friends for whatever I paid. I figure that I have no business having original things in my hands, as I only use them for work, and to later file them away. So, with that in mind, I don't really have anything that would knock anyone's socks off.

But, this particular piece does have special meaning to me:

It's amazing that I only 'picked it up' in August of this year at the National. The photo was actually a gift from a great friend who knew of my love for Hubbell. He figured the image would make an amazing painting, and he couldn't leave it to languish in a seller's binder without me seeing it. Damn was he right. The fact that he went out of his way to purchase this gift, let alone just think of me, goes beyond words. I'm eternally grateful for his friendship, and I'm sure I always will be.

PS: And for those of you who care, the shot is from before the fourth game of the 1937 World Series, the only contest Hubbell and the Giants would win against the Bombers that year.
