I purchased my 73 Topps Comic Tom Seaver off of ebay still wrapped around the gum. It was hell to open it up to display it. But I think it's a safe bet this was in a store back in 1973.
I assume those crazy 1988 Topps cloth (paper towel) cards were never issued to the public, but don't really know.
