And laugh out loud I did. From the Dec Legendary Auction (photo below left):

"Joe Evers, as we have identified him, bears a striking resemblance to brother Johnny Evers. Through our research, we determined that this is Joe Evers, as brother Johnny has no apparent history or affiliation with any New York team (specifically, the Giants)."

The reason for the "striking resemblance" should be obvious - it is Johnny Evers. Below left you see the photo in question, next to a Johnny Evers photo for which we have a forensically perfect ear match.

On the right is a photo of what is clearly a different guy - the real Joe Evers - from the 2/2/1913 New York Times.

This "research" took all of 5 minutes. I hope Leg. does better research on their jerseys.
