It's hard to tell from the scans but I am going to guess that most are in fact trimmed. You might ask why I would say that. Because recently he sold a nice vg'ish raw 1934 DS Grove and here is his description:
"1934 Diamond Stars #1 Lefty Grove in poor condition. Back damage and and a light surface wrinkle. Presents well for condition. I have meticulously inspected and measured this card and guarantee it is original, unaltered, and will grade with any reputable grading company. Now, if he said all of that in that auction but not in the others I have to think there is a reason for it..Personally, I think he is hedging that folks will think they are (numerically) gradable....That's just a guess though..regards
