Well I care not to take sides, I do want to point out that while Bob's description of tenure above is probably the most commonly used meaning for the term "tenure," tenure can also mean simply a position. In this case, it seems Bruce was referring to his position as student. So, I'm not entirely sure what Bruce posted is inaccurate.
