Default Old Cardboard

Hi--

Check out my articles on R313 and R314 in issues 6 and 7 of Old Cardboard. Many of your questions will be addressed there. I am also happy to answer any questions I can in the meantime-- just email me.

Tim

-- they were not issued as complete sets. They were given out by storekeepers one by one, or a few at a time, with gum purchases in stores.

Does this make it more difficult to piece together card by card? How hard are they to find?
--the base R314 photos are pretty easy to find overall, and you will find lots on ebay. The subsets (described in the article) are a lot harder.

I've seen a couple of different checklists listing different totals for completion. What is the industry standard?
--My checklist in the articles is now the standard, I would think. The Old Cardboard website has the correct checklist of 120 photos for the R314A base set, but it doesn't have the subset checklists (they are in the articles, however).

How collectible are they? How is this set viewed overall in the hobby, more of a niche set?
--They are as collectible as you want them to be. They are not a set to pursue for investment purposes-- but for a true collector (as opposed to investor) that may make them more appealing.

What does a typical "common" go for in VG or less? I would say $5-10 per VG common, plus or minus. Less in lots. it's a very affordable set.
