Like most other advanced collectors, auctions have generally been the best source of acquisitions for us.

We have tracked our auction batting average (exclusive of e bay) on cards that sold for $1000 or more over the past 5 years. Whilst our overall average was just about .350 our batting average with Goodwin..080 (2 for 25) over the past 3 years.

In last night's auction we bid aggressively on three ultra high e type card lots and finally went to sleep after 2:30 PM. Clearly we were competing against someone who was determined to win at any price.

We were wondering which auction houses have proved most productive for you and which ones are the most difficult to win.
