Jim- yeah, just look at all of those fake overprints in holders that are floating around.

Brad- it is common knowledge that in early hobby years there weren't so many pristine pre-war cards. It is also common knowledge that trimming is rampant in our hobby much more so than faking an overprint. Even though 2 fake overprints have been caught recently it pales in comparison to altered cards in general, imo.

Here is my look when I see a high grade pre-war graded card-

Mike- sorry to carry on in your thread but maybe you will get more publicity this way. For the record there has only been 1 fake E94 overprint ever found.....I doubt we can say that about high grade trimmed cards.
