Interesting concept. I think it would be easier (but not easy) to calculate using a cello or rack pack than a wax pack. Too many variable with the gum, sealant, etc. At least with a cello, you could look for dings on the corners, see who is on top and bottom (in most cases), and have a greater number of cards working for you.
