The HOF has a similar hang-up with relief pitchers and defensive whizs. Very few get in and normally you don't get unless you are pretty close to being the best. That might happen with DHs, do you think that Edgar Martinez was the best DH? David Ortiz, Harold Baines, and Fred McGriff are pretty stiff competition.
