Default Wanted: Handley memorabilia (PCL)

Posted By: Jason L

I was fortunate enough to have been given the heads-up on those two bats a couple weeks ago by our own Dan Bretta, who remembered my interest in the Handleys. Thanks again, Dan!

Both of those two examples are now safely home and part of the Handley collection, awaiting further research into their origins and histories. I highly recommend dealing with Chris Galbreath (the collection owner). We had an informative phone conversation, plus several emails back and forth. He was fair, helpful, and shipped extremely quickly.

As an aside, I have to say that this Board has proven invaluable as a resource over the past few years. It is also populated with excellent, helpful people. I sometimes wonder if my publicising (spelling?!) my interest in the Handleys has hurt my chances of learning more or discovering collectable items to add to my collection, or if it has helped more than hurt.
I will say that these two bats demonstrated that it is a fine line I walk! Chris G contacted me 2 weeks after buying those bats and said that he has had 3 inquiries about them since I bought them! Either it is coincidence, Handleys have become popular, or people want to flip them to me - but regardless, I was running just ahead of the pack, and I know I am fortunate.

Overall, though, I am extremely grateful to those of you out there who have helped. I get emails at least once a month from people who have read of my interest, and give me a heads-up on something they see. truly a help. truly appreciated.

Thanks again Dan, Rhys, Chris G, John W, Jeremy, and others!
