I revised the item description. I had always heard he was jewish, not that he was a practicing orthodox Jew, but that he was of Jewish Descent. I would never try to use something like that as an "angle" to make a dollar and you have my permission to e mail the high bidder if you desire. I always just thought it was a note of interest.

I am Mormon and collect items of both Dennis Eckersley and Harmon Killebrew. These are both Mormons by virtue of their LDS baptism but neither has ever been a practicing member of the LDS faith. I always was under the impression that Kauff was in a similar boat.

I still do not really know if it is the Jewsish descent, or the fact that they were practincg Jews that makes a particular ballplayer collectible and perhaps you can fill me in on that.

I menat nothing by the statement and have already made the changes to the auction.

Sorry for perpetuating the myth.
