barrysloateJohnny touched on a point I've been concerned about for a long time. The golden age of baseball memorabilia collecting, which began in the late 1970's and early 1980's, was fueled entirely by the baby boomers who were coming of age. They began by buying the baseball cards of their childhood, and many branched out into vintage cards and the like.
But this group is nearing retirement, and the next generation will not collect the same way. How it will all pan out is a mystery, but I imagine the hobby will certainly change. In fact, in many ways it already has.
