leonI just received an email from Rob L with some additional info. I will cut and paste so as not to mangle the translation....
"Hi Leon! The 1929 Dockman's issue is entitled "Headliners" and features various subjects. The 1928 set features only baseball players. My theory: It is likely the header card advertised "Star Players", and probably read "Star Players and Gum" just like the 1929 issue header card reads "Headliners and Gum". I know it's impossible to know but I think this is very possible. I put a picture of the entire Dockman's box as it was displayed at the candy store on the REA blog."
