Just within the last year there were some W553's found in a scrapbook that were still in their vertical strips. So, this tends to indicate that they were probably available both ways -- as singles with a product (as in the REA find) and as strips. I believe someone here on the forum eventually came forward and admitted they had bought the strips from the ebay auction.
