Frank Wakefield1- They're telling you correctly about the space above the
cap, and to the left of the 'G'. Look at that, a good test.
Also, look at the thickness of the card, and look for the
multilayering tht is present on authentic Goudeys, the reprints
don't mimic the multilayering.
2- Illuminate the card with a black light to see if it
fluoresces. Authentic cards won't fluoresce.
3- Do NOT trust the grading companies, you can depend on them
a bit, but use 1 and 2 above, don't blindly trust in the slip
on a slab.
4- You CAN buy ungraded Ruth Goudey's with 1 and 2 above...
look at a bunch of Goudeys and develop a feel for what's
authentic.
