This site is really good because of the simple way threads list, the way posts are made, and the way photos are uplinked. I've been to some other similar sites, and none of the others have the ease and the flow that this one does. That is why folks come here.
It is a disaster to lose the old threads. In an ideal world someone could pull it all, put it into document files, edit out some of the crap threads, and create some files that would be the good of what's gone before. That could then be emailed to those of us who want it.
I don't see how what's been done in the past can be pasted into a new forum site.
What should happen is that N54 folks should fix what's wrong, then improve the search mechanism for searching old threads (not even they could tinker with it and make it worse, it could only get better).
Bobby had something about potentially losing folks if you change, I think he's right. I think you might gain a few. I know you'll lose a few.
Still, a move might be necessary.
One weighty decision... wish you well with it.
