That's the very reason that so many have posted to this thread with comments of disbelief. What was the undisputed premier auction house over the past decade has now reached the point where there isn't even a receptionist to answer their phones.
The company who was unparalleled in terms of customer service can no longer return a phone call or provide a tracking number. It is almost unthinkable to see how far/fast the "empire" has fallen. To your point (as both a consignor and bidder) there was never a single problem in the past... only positives. That's why it is so startling that not a soul remains, who is available to speak with. Even a blanket voice-mail recording would be somewhat comforting.
Needless to say, the goods are still in limbo, with no return phone call, notification or email. Hopefully Monday...
