Default personal collecting questions

Posted By: Al C.risafulli

Okay, I'll play.

1. What is your focus today, in collecting?

Currently focusing on selling things so that I can rebuild a much smaller collection. I also collect high-grade 1938 Goudeys, E121 (sorry, Leon) Henry Johnson Confectioner backs, and New Jersey baseball memorabilia.

2. What are the 3 cards you need most?

I currently have nine holes in my '38 Goudey set, and need them all equally. I'm also looking for Henry Johnson Confectioners HOFers; Tris Speaker and Pete Alexander are probably the highest-tier HOFers I need.

3. Do you like to trade, buy, or a combination when you do acquire your needs?

I like to buy.

4. Has the economy forced you to sell things you wouldn't have otherwise?

Not really, although it is a factor.

5. What is your absolute favorite series, why?

1938 Goudey, because there's so little history available about the cards, and so many mysteries about them as well. Why did Goudey only issue 24 cards, why were so many key players absent from the set, why did Goudey never issue the last 24 cards they planned to issue, that sort of thing. Plus I have a pretty nice collection of them that's taken me a long time to assemble.

6. How do you enjoy acquiring your cards most- Ebay, auction, BST, shows etc...?

Wherever, doesn't matter. I generally don't buy at shows because I find the prices unrealistic.

7. What do you do for a living, how old are you and where do you live?

I'm a pimp, I'm old for a mosquito but young for a mountain, and I live in New Jersey.
