Ruth wrote with his right hand. (As did Gehrig, and all left-handers in those days. Left-handed children were forced to write right-handed. My father did everything lefty... except write.)

But Ruth did everything else--including throwing--lefty. At St. Mary's he wore that left-hand-fitting catchers mitt on his right hand.
