Default What's the cornerstone of your collection?

Posted By: Al C.risafulli

1) 1981 Fleer "C" Nettles error, purchased in 1981 by my mother, who was working three jobs just to keep me in a home, for the whopping sum of $17, as a birthday gift for me.

2) T206 Rube Waddell portrait with four clipped corners and numerous wrinkles, purchased by me for $1, as my first prewar baseball card when I was 9 or 10 years old.

3) 1964 Topps Billy Williams, SGC 5, purchased raw at a card show when I was a kid, the nicest and best-condition "oldie" I had ever seen up to that point.

4) 1960 Topps Tex Clevenger, the oldest card in my neighborhood for the longest time, that we all used as trade bait to get the latest rookie or superstar card. We all lost interest in the hobby as we got older, but I was the last guy to get the Clevenger.

All the other stuff can burn. Those four cards are VALUABLE.
