It is the most frequent sellers (aka: the flippers) who do not post scans. My guess is they don't want the guy they just bought from last week to know that their card is now for sale for x% more this week. Sometimes they represent themselves as collectors rather than flippers which may be why they conceal what they are selling. Notice that none of the most common no-scan flippers will come here to explain themselves, which makes me suspicious. Personally, I disregard offerings without scans. If it is not worth their time to post a scan, it is not worth mine to e-mail and request one.
