I remember when someone who had never posted before resurrected many ancient threads by adding irrelevant, meaningless comments. It happened at approx 3am, likely with a few drinks involved, and resembled spam (the board suddenly filled with irrelevant stuff, blocking out the real current topics). So I appreciate Leon being conscious of the issue.

Obviously if the 3am poster posted scans of a newly found addition to the discussed set, no one's going to complain that he bumped one old thread.

The Net54 rule of thumb is, if you're going say something meaningless, say it in a current thread. That way it will blend in with the other current meaningless posts.
